WordPress Stats
July 13, 2007
During my lunch with Matt Mullenweg and Toni Schneider, Matt asked if I was using the WordPress Stats Plugin. I wasn’t at the time. I was between flip-flops between several different stats providers. I decided to give it a whirl. It’s incredibly easy to set up, although I had to dig through my mailbox (thankfully the search in Yahoo! Mail is really good) to find the password that was auto-generated for me to be able to log into my wordpress.com account.
Anyway, while looking through the referrers for my blog, this one caught my eye:
Evidently, this site (myFeedz) is some sort of social newspaper that’s run by Adobe Labs. Anyway, one of my posts on the London Hack Day was tagged “asses” by a myFeedz user. I’m not sure who the “asses” are. Is it me? People at the event? People working on the event? Oh well, amusing nonetheless.

Since we were in London, it should have been “arses” anyway.

Not sure about that “asses” thing, but maybe the tagger was describing him/herself and their own friends?
Here’s a link the WordPress Stats Plugin:

The one in the posting links to the Lunch with Smart People post.

Damnit…thanks mookie. That’s what happens when you copy and paste one too many times.

Hey – you using the stats plugin now? If so, does it provide anything MyBlogLog’s stats don’t? Still searching for my Mint replaclement since it got nixed by the Paranoids…

I don’t really know. I started using the MBL stats but stopped checking since the info wasn’t all that interesting. I haven’t even been checking my WP stats that much either. I think stats just aren’t that interesting to me. I’m more interested in the writing than I am in knowing who’s reading/linking.

I know what you mean Ryan about not being interested in stats but WordPress stats are really simple, easy to understand and useful in planning adn targeting your blog posts.:
